About Us

Hills Building Consultants is an independent building consulting service based in the Perth Hills and servicing all areas of the Perth metropolitan areas and nearby towns such as Northam, York and Toodyay.

Our Director Simon Vito has performed over 1000 inspections of buildings ranging from residential prepurchase inspections through to staged construction inspection of both residential and commercial projects.

Simon has worked in the building industry since 2009 over seeing commercial building projects and since 2016 has been the Director of Hills Building Consultants and building two architect designed and solar passive houses for his family in that time.

Simon’s experience includes two years working as a Building Surveyor for a large metropolitan Council where he was responsible for assessing building applications and inspecting building works both in progress and completed.

Simon brings detailed knowledge of building standards and practices and long experience to the residential inspection industry and is a Registered Building Surveyor with the Department of Mines Industry Regulation and Safety.

There is nothing he has not seen before.

Hills Building Consultants Director, Simon Vito graduated from Murdoch University in 2003 with a Honors Degree in Economics.

In the 14 years since, he has worked on major projects across WA including:

  • New Cannington Greyhound Racing Track
  • QE II Medical Centre Adult Mental Health Unit
  • Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital G Block Lift Upgrade
  • HBF Arena Football and Basketball upgrade

In 2009 Simon built his own architecturally-designed, award-nominated home in the Perth Hills which was featured in Warm House Cool House : Inspirational Designs for Low-Energy Housing authored by architect Nick Hollo.
